S.M. Vidaurri
was born and raised in northern New Jersey. They received a BFA in Illustration from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Their first graphic novel Iron: Or The War After was published in 2012 and was nominated for the Graphic Album category in the Pépites 2013 Salon de Montreuil. Their work was also featured in Locust Moon's Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream which won for Best Anthology in the 2015 Eisner Awards.
In addition to his comics work, Vidaurri signed on as a musician with indie label Mint 400 Records with The Ashes, an experimental folk/ska band, and then as a solo artist in 2014. The Ashes also played and toured with Jersey City’s The Old Glory’s.
Vidaurri also released three solo albums, which featureThe Slacker's Vic Ruggiero and The Ashes Mister Tom and Alec James.
Their most recent graphic novel, All My Friends Are Ghosts, was released in 2020 and published by KaBoom!
